Now Mobile Work Order is even faster to obtain and easier to configure
How World-Class Maintenance can improve safety in manufacturing companies
On January 1, 2024, the new release of Mobile Work Order by 2BM Software will be launched. The app, designed to help manufacturing companies streamline maintenance and leverage the technological possibilities of Industry 4.0, can now be delivered even faster and has become easier to configure.
On January 1, 2024, 2BM Software will go live with a new release of Mobile Work Order – the application that streamlines the maintenance of machinery and facilities for production companies.
The new version of Mobile Work Order works on Android, iOS, and desktop, offering several significant updates for the benefit of 2BM Software’s customers and partners.
A new step towards download and install
“Our ultimate vision is to create software that works the same way as downloading an app from an app store. Software that works immediately, without instruction, without the need for an IT project, and without the need for programming. . With the new release of Mobile Work Order, we take a significant step toward that goal,” says Martin Pock, CEO of 2BM Software.
Easier distribution with new technology
In the new version of Mobile Work Order, 2BM Software transitions to the new technology PWA (Progressive Web App), which, in practice, is a website installed and functioning on a device as if it were a native app.
However, the solution does not need to be downloaded from an app store but can be delivered directly to customers’ employees via their existing MDM systems.
“PWA is a significant technological advancement. It saves us and customers a lot of time since we don’t need approval from Apple or Google first but can distribute Mobile Work Order directly to customers and their users,” explains Olav Rask, Head of Product at 2BM Software.
New configuration tool
A new configuration tool makes it even easier to customize Mobile Work Order with a few clicks, ensuring the app supports the specific needs and preferences of a location or a particular function.
According to Martin Pock, Mobile Work Order is used in various ways in maintenance work. Even within the same company, the use of Mobile Work Order can vary.
“With the configuration tool in our new release, we make it even easier to adapt the app to fit the way each department wants to use Mobile Work Order in their maintenance processes. This can be done without the need for programming skills,” explains Martin Pock.
Lightning-fast app with an even simpler user interface
It is also important for 2BM that Mobile Work Order continues to offer a convenient user experience, making it easy to operate the app intuitively with little or no training – similar to the apps users use privately.
All speeds in the app have become faster. This is evident already during the initial synchronization after the first login, where the app quickly retrieves all the necessary data.
The familiar, straightforward functionality in the user interface has received a new and more elegant graphic expression, making the operation even easier for employees maintaining machinery and other assets. The user interface is based on SAP’s design system Fiori.
Reap the benefits of Industry 4.0
2BM Software wants companies using SAP and transitioning to SAP S/4HANA or planning to do so to experience familiarity in the design and user-friendliness of the applications.
“One of the reasons we have been Industry Cloud-certified by SAP is that we fill a gap in SAP’s portfolio of solutions. Mobile Work Order is for companies that want to achieve all the benefits of Industry 4.0 through easy access – online and offline – to SAP and all our additional features such as digital checklists and instructions, connection to IoT systems, and the possibility of predictive maintenance and the business gains it brings,” says Martin Pock.
