SAP GDPR at Royal Unibrew

About Royal Unibrew

Royal Unibrew is a leading regional multi-beverage company in a number of markets – primarily in Northern Europe, Italy and in international markets with its malt beverages.
Royal Unibrew produces, markets, sells and distributes high-quality beverages across a wide range of categories, including beer, malt beverages, soft drinks, energy drinks, cider, juice, water, wine and spirits. The company’s main markets are Denmark, Finland, Italy, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The company is also active in international markets that cover a number of established markets in the Americas, major cities in Europe and North America and emerging markets in Africa.

The challenge

Royal Unibrew need assistance to structure their practical implementation of the project to prepare for the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including policies, procedures and analysis of the technical and organisational measures for SAP. 2BM was recommended by Royal Unibrew’s external lawyers from Bech Bruun, who had worked closely with 2BM over the last few years in relation to another client.

The solution

Royal Unibrew chose 2BM to support the practical implementation of the preparation for GDPR’s requirements for documentation, including workshops, “Standard Operating Procedure” (SOP) writing, documentation of processes and a detailed analysis of the SAP platform in relation to blocking and deletion, logging, authorisations, SAP IT security, right of access and anonymisation.

Royal Unibrew were allocated professional people from 2BM who could help them get the GDPR project started and help them with the execution of the underlying tasks and whom they could sound out and exchange ideas with based on 2BM’s experience from a number of other comparable projects.

2BM has inspired Royal Unibrew to deal with GDPR across all of its business – so that the issue does not occur again.

Why 2BM?

“We were assisted in building and further developing a strong foundation, which we could extend to the rest of our business and locations. 2BM’s practical experience in the area ensured that we obtained rapid and effective help with the manual tasks related to the structuring of the project, the writing of SOPs and above all, reviewing the work we had done on an ongoing basis internally in the different departments.”
