SAP’s New Look
About Grundfos
Grundfos has been in in the pump market for nearly 70 years, and with an annual production of more 16 million pump units it is the largest pump manufacture in the world. Grundfos aims to achieve even greater accomplishments and market shares by focusing on sustainability, a changing world and ground-breaking technology.
The Grundfos Group is represented by more than 80 companies in more than 55 countries. It employs over 18.000 workers and has a turnover of 23,618 billion DKK in 2014.
The Challenge
People have become used to the speed and simplicity of consumer apps, and so business users expect the same simplicity from business software. Moreover mobile technology like cameras and sensors in phones enables companies to make processes more efficient.
Traditionally SAP has only been used on PC’s and the “retro” interface has long been a course of hectic debate. SAP recently launched several new UI technologies counting Fiori and Screen Personas to give the business user a better experience. But how does a business transition to use the new technologies, and what technology should it use. With more than 300 Fiori apps figuring out where to start can be a challenge.
Rapid Implementation
Low impact evaluation by using a hosted SAP environment
Knowledge transfer from key employees
Why 2BM?
Søren Danner Pedersen, Information Architect:
”Choosing 2BM as our partner for the trying out Fiori was a natural choice as they are among the leaders in the SAP mobile industry.”

The Solution
By applying modern design principles SAP Fiori is the new user experience (UX) for SAP software. Together with the customer it was decided to do a rapid POC of 7 apps within SAP Travel and SD to help Grundfos evaluate the applications.
The 7 apps were :
- My Travel Requests
- Approve Travel Expenses
- Approve Travel Requests
- Check Price and Availability
- Track Sales Orders
- Track Shipments
- Customer Invoices
As 2BM hosted the SAP environments, the implementation was quick and had low impact on Grundfos’s systems. After one month, the customer was able to evaluate the potential of the new Fiori Apps.
After the POC Grundfos has chosen to continue with Fiori Travel.
